With one of the longest coastlines in the world, raw and organic landscape, clean air and peoples open-hearted hospitality we can promise you a unique and memorable time with us in the southern part of Norway this autumn.

Overview

You can look forward to a fabulous weekend spent with like minded people exploring different aspects of yoga, it´s elements and wonderful costal walks at the most southern part of Norway.

The retreat is held the edge of the Lista peninsula, facing the North Sea.  Our home for the weekend is an extended barn conversion newly built with our Yoga space having  direct view of the open ocean and unique scenery of the Lista landscape. Our closest neighbour is the flat Lista landscape and the North Sea which will show us a spectacular view come rain or shine.

When visiting the Lista region in Southern Norway you will for sure feel its raw untouched vitality of the elements. We will dress for the weather and explore the landscapes surrounding us, leaving you feeling alive and vibrant as well as harvesting wonderful experiences to treasure. Through our yoga, the elements and the  local area we will immerse ourselves in this unique experience emerging renewed in body and mind, filled with beautiful memories.

So if you are looking for yoga retreat with a difference, away from every day life we can promise you exactly that!

The Local Area

Your home for this weekend is located at the rural are of Lista. Lista is known for its flat and rugged landscape with the sea as the nearest neighbour. Lista is also known for its stunning light and many painters travel to this are to paint the landscape. It’s an are with a very special ‘vibe’ indeed. The natural beauty creates a calming atmosphere even as the storms are blowing.

The Lista region is also known for its stunning coastal walks, bird watching, surfing, wind surfing and kiting.

Lista Lighthouse is a coastal lighthouse located at the western side of the Lista peninsula. The lighthouse is a 34 meter tall stone tower lit for the first time 10th of November 1836.

There are 134 steps that will take you to the top of the lighthouse to enjoy stunning views.

Loshavn is a small port village at the mouth of one of the most southern fjords of Norway. Its beauty and tranquillity is like something else. The typical white tree built houses are sprinkled like pearls around the coastal line and rugged terrain is like a picture postcard, and there are no roads for cars.

It is said that Loshavn is perhaps the most preserved village in Southern Norway.

Loshavn holds many stories from the ‘pirate’ times dating back to the 1800’s when the locals fought the invitation of British ships during the Napoleonic wars.

Your Yoga Experience

This Yoga Retreat is suitable for all abilities, so whether you are a beginner or more advanced in your practice we will make sure you get the most our of your time on the yoga mat.

During our time together we will immerse ourselves in the fundamental teachings of Yoga exploring the elemental aspects of the yogic teachings and its influences in our practice and lives.

The weekend’s yoga journey will start with the more traditional Hatha yoga, breath awareness and hands on adjustments. We will then link each pose to each other like a mala bead creating a sacred practice, a moving meditation, where the breath is the thread that weaves the whole practice together in one unified state of flow.

As we learn more about the elemental aspects in yoga we dive deeper into ourselves and our lives; exploring what we call ‘living’ yoga. We bring our lives onto our yoga mats and our yoga into our lives having a positive affect on how we choose to live, becoming more present making choices that affect our lives in a positive way.

Through the elemental teachings in yoga your understanding of yourself becomes clearer and you will learn what ‘type’ of practice is the best one for you depending on where you are in your body, mind and heart, as well as where you are in your life.

Our time together will be a learning experience leaving you feeling open hearted, calm, strong, fluid and happy!

Accommodation

In The Longhouse at Lista in Farsund you will be living next door to the cows and the sand swallows.

On the other side of the large panoramic windows of our Yoga Studio it opens to one outstanding view of the North Sea and Norway’s largest concentration of bird species.

We are staying at what is called the Osthassel beach in a new build barn conversion inspired by the typical ancient buildings from the Bronze Age.

The new build and modern barn conversion is an extension from the original barn inspired by how the living space was wall to wall with the barn to keep the heath through the cold winters.

The vision of this modern built barn conversion project is to create an interest for those who like to live close to nature. You can hear, see and smell the culture and the nature you will find yourself in here. The simplicity and tranquillity is simply outstanding!

Your sleeping arrangement’s are in an open and light dormitory space with some of the beds having windows to the sky and surroundings. The beds are comfortable and bedding is lush pillows and duvets where you can snuggle in nicely after a memorable day.

To fall asleep to the strong sound of the North Sea and wake up to the high sky’s is a beautiful way of sharing the weekend with your fellow Yogi’s.

Living in this architectural gem is an experience for sure.

There are modern bathroom facilities with good showers and a cosy kitchen where our chef will be preparing healthy and wholesome meals for us.

Cuisine

All meals are suited to a healthy and balanced life style. There there will be a selection of vegetarian options and vegan by request.

Our chef will do his upmost to serve you food that will nourish and satisfy you.

All meals are included in the weekend retreat.
